Cheddar First School has a democratically elected group of Councillors who represent classes from Year 1 to Year 4 and meet regularly with Mr Davies and Miss Davies.
School Councillors are expected to be reliable, committed, patient, proud of our school and have the ability to listen carefully to the views of others as well as expressing their own.
The Councillors are encouraged to discuss any ideas or suggestions made by their peers about ways to improve our school and/or the local community. In the past these have included raising money to support school projects, helping local charities & groups within the community and initiating ideas that help highlight global issues.
School Council Christmas Appeal
Cheddar Valley Foodbank Appeal
A HUGE thank you to all families who have kindly contributed towards our annual food bank appeal. Once again, we have been astounded at your generosity and we are immensely proud of our children for embracing this project during the past couple of weeks.
A thank you must also go to the parents/carers and children at Earlybirds who have also been collecting donations for the first time this year; it was lovely to collaborate with them.
Finally, we must further express our gratitude to Sainsburys, Cheddar for letting us borrow one of their trolleys for the collection and for letting the Year 3 and 4 school councillors come to spend the £20.00 gift card they kindly donated again this year. It is very much appreciated.
Sainsbury's Support our School Council
Thank you to our friends at Sainsbury’s in Cheddar for kindly donating a £20.00 gift card for the Year 3 and 4 school councillors to spend in store this week. Between them, they selected some more goods for the Foodbank collection 2019.
