Our school was first established in 1845 and has a long a history of educational success and partnerships within the village.

The present school building was opened in 2002 and includes part of the historic Victorian building. The school buildings are modern, bright and airy and provide a pleasant and stimulating environment for children to work and play in. Ten purpose built classrooms are enhanced by a Library area, Nurture room, Therapy Room and large School Hall. The school has a large field at the rear of the building. A pond teeming with wildlife, gardening areas tended by the children and an established ‘forest school’ area are some of the features to be found in the school grounds.

There are currently 256 pupils on roll, organised in 10 class groups. Teachers work collaboratively to plan, deliver and assess the curriculum. An experienced group of nursery nurses and teaching assistants work with the teachers. We are an inclusive school catering for children with a range of learning needs. The staff team have a wide range of experience and expertise and are committed to providing high quality educational experiences for their pupils.
