Aladdin Comes to Cheddar First
Fri 17 Jan 2020This week, thanks to the generosity of our parents through the FPTA fund raising efforts, we enjoyed a visit from Westend in Schools Theatre company. All of the children, from pre-school to Year 4, participated actively in the pantomime Aladdin by singing songs and joining in enthusiastically. Oh no you didn’t…..Oh yes you did!

Batts Combe Quarry Visit
Wed 11 Dec 2019On Friday 6th December, Billy and Steve (two supervisors from Batts Combe Quarry) came to talk to Year 3 about rocks. They told the children all about the Geology and Geography of the local area and spoke in depth about the quarrying process. The children learnt a lot from their visit and really enjoyed the game at the end where their group had to try and make the loudest noise! Thank you to Batts Coombe for this memorable visit to Cheddar First School and also for providing the children with hats and rocks which they were very excited about. -
Year 3 & 4 Visit Cheddar Caves
Wed 20 Nov 2019On Friday 15th November, Year 3 and 4 went on a trip to Cheddar Caves and Museum. This enriched learning experience added to the children’s knowledge of The Stone Age to Iron Age from their recent topic work. The children were very well behaved and interested in all they could learn about Stone Age Cheddar.
Thank you to the staff of Cheddar Caves for welcoming the students on Friday and giving them a guided tour. It was a lovely conclusion to our Stone Age topic.
